In 1909 Théo Van Rysselberghe was commisioned by Paul Nocard's hotel, also owner of the renowned perfumery Pivert. He made amongst others, four compositions with bathing women and a series of flower compostions for the atrium of this prestigious building in Neuilly-sur-Seine, a luxurious suburb of Paris.
